What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling based martial art that supports the idea that a smaller person can effectively defend themselves against any attacker, regardless of size, by using proper leverage techniques. This concept was perfected by Master Hélio Gracie and revolutionized the world of Martial Arts as it became universally recognized as the leading form of martial art for self-defense for all practitioners. Jiu-jitsu involves grappling positions, transitions, and submission holds. Submission Grappling is based on the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu concepts without the traditional GI uniform (shorts & t-shirt/rashguard uniform instead).
