Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling based martial art that supports the idea that a smaller person can effectively defend themselves against any attacker, regardless of size, by using proper leverage techniques. This concept was perfected by Master Hélio Gracie and revolutionized the world of Martial Arts as it became universally recognized as the leading form of martial art for self-defense for all practitioners. Jiu-jitsu involves grappling positions, transitions, and submission holds. Submission Grappling is based on the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu concepts without the traditional GI uniform (shorts & t-shirt/rashguard uniform instead).

Submission Grappling:

Submission Grappling is based on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu concept without the traditional GI.

Wrestling:

Wrestling is a form of grappling and one of the original Olympic events. RSMMA’s wrestling program has developed its own unique style of this art form that’s structured around what is useful for self-defense, MMA, and grappling competitions focusing on mainly takedown offense and defense.

MMA Grappling & Fight Team

Mixed Martial Arts competitions like the UFC are very popular and great way to test your martial arts ability. These classes are open to students that have at least an intermediate level of striking and grappling, though you don’t have to be a competitive fighter to participate. We will learn and drill techniques that add striking to our grappling, mixing our stand-up boxing/kickboxing with our wrestling, etc. just like you see in MMA. MMA sparring gloves and mouth guards are required for most classes, but boxing gloves and shin guards will be needed occasionally.

Boxing/ Kickboxing:

Boxing/Kickboxing at RSMMA combines the concepts of traditional Muay Thai Kickboxing and Western Boxing (along with some techniques from other martial arts). At RSMMA, we teach proper offensive and defensive striking techniques in such a manner that the student has the ability to develop their own unique style of striking. RSMMA ensures safety when practicing these striking based martial arts by requiring all students to wear proper training gear that meets RSMMA standards.

Cardio Kickboxing:

Cardio kickboxing is a class designed to get the students a great workout and burn calories, with some emphasis on technique without the contact of a normal kickboxing class. The class will mix hitting bags and pads with basic fitness movements to get the student in great shape without the stresses of technique mastery and sparring.
